Painted entirely in Procreate on iPad 2 without a stylus.

Perspective

What you see and believe is unique to you.  Your view of the world has been shaped by every event and experience in your life.  When you judge someone else you do so within the confines of your experiences and understanding of the world.  Do not make the mistake of liking someone more, just because they agree with you. 

Taking offence

Just as your opinion is based on your perspective you must accept the same of everyone else.  When you recognise this you will no longer take offence or be upset by the words and actions of others.  Listen to what people say, but choose not to be upset by it.  Their opinion is no more a fact than yours.

Possessions

Money, fame and material possessions can provide happiness but it will be an empty happiness.  The people and events that touch you will enrich your life beyond any possession.  Enjoy yourself; play; share your successes and failures and your passion and love of what excites and energises you.  Do this and you will be rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Do your best

When you are well and full of energy your best will be amazing.  When you are ill or in turmoil you will most likely feel less able.  As long as you do your best you can forgive yourself and move on.  Your best will grow with learning, practice and above all, perseverance.

Believe in yourself

The only barrier to achievement is you.  You can overcome anything if you get up more times than you fall.  When faced with an obstacle, focus on how to overcome it rather than how it affects you.  If you let negative thoughts fill your mind you will waste your energy on them.  Channel your energy towards resolving the problem and you will overcome it sooner.

This blog is for my art but I had to link this because I'm very excited about it.

More work I can't show

I've been working like a dog recently but I can't show any of it because of the agreements I  have with the people who've commissioned me.

If you keep returning to see nothing new I appreciate your patience.  As an intermediate solution I am adding a new section for 'old/unfinished work' which will show how I've improved and give you insight into some of the images I want to take forward in future.

Latest commission

Please follow this link or the 'Gladiators' tab above to take a look at the work from my latest commission.  I've included some rough drafts as well so you can see the progression of some of the images.  Naturally I'm excited and quite chuffed about it because I've been working on it for a month and a half.  The art will soon be published in the book that's being produced by Chivalry & Sorcery.com and when that happens I can change my C.V. to show I'm a published artist.

 

Thankyou to everyone who has supported me since I started devoting almost all my spare time to becoming a freelance artist, especially my family.

I am starting work on another project immediately but I'm not sure if I will be able to show any of the concepts from it because the client is in the early stages of production.  I will try and post some doodles from my rambles on the Paper app by 53 on iPad and of course from the wonderful Procreate on iPad.

This is a quick apology for the lack of updates recently. I have a lot of work on that I just can't share right now but once I'm finished I can probably post a few pics.

Deadline is 29 April so expect something shortly after that.

Lack of updates

Sorry for the lack of arty updates recently peeps. I am working on two commissions at the mo so everything else has taken a back seat.

If I can show any of the work once it is complete I will.

Little changes incoming

In an effort to make my blog a little brighter I'm doing some housecleaning so expect the layout to change a little.  

Images will shortly be moved to the Portfolio section and I will move newer images to that section periodically.  This will enable visitors to find what they want more quickly rather than scanning through a massive archive.
